The political unrest in Brazil during a crucial election season adds to the frustration of it all. Corrupt government, crime, and a lack of justice run rampant in the country - according to Arnold. His desire is that Brazil's people will elect a new leader to redeem their country from the turmoil in which it is currently suffering.
In Arnold's words: Brazil, "deserves leaders who will act swiftly to protect the vulnerable from exploitation and restore Brazil's credibility in the region - not use the crisis to stoke xenophobia and nationalism."
Arnold believes not only that the Venezuelan refugees are being treated unfairly and unwelcomed, but also that Brazilian political candidates are using the crisis for their own selfish gain.
Arnold may not be a Christian, but I believe his view is aligned with what I believe as a follower of Christ. Brazil deserves justice. A strong leader who believes in administering justice equally to all, as well as helping others, is just what the country needs to get back on its feet.
